About Blanket Donations: Winter Aid for Yemen
A blanket donation is one of the fastest and most tangible forms of help for families spending the winter in a tent, a ruined house or an unheated room.
Your donation for Yemen helps a child, an elderly person or a mother sleep without freezing on cold nights.
Why is a blanket donation so important?
In areas affected by war, disaster and poverty, many families have no fuel or heating.
When night temperatures drop, babies, children and the elderly are most at risk.
- The blankets are chosen from thick, durable material.
- In distribution, priority goes to children and the elderly in tent camps.
- One blanket can be used for more than one winter.
Blanket donation prices by region
The price varies with local sourcing, quality and transport conditions:
| Region | Blanket (per item) |
|---|---|
| Afghanistan | 20 € |
| Yemen | 20 € |
| Sudan | 25 € |
| Palestine | 50 € |
Example: If you want to provide blankets for a family of five in Afghanistan, a donation of 5 × 20 € = 100 € is enough.
Because conditions and transport are more difficult in Palestine, the price there is different; for the general situation in the region, see our guide to donating to Palestine from Austria.

Why it matters to donate before winter begins
Sourcing, transporting and distributing blankets takes time.
That is why donating in autumn or in the first weeks of winter helps the aid arrive before the coldest days.
Even so, every donation made during the winter supports a family through freezing nights.
