An Afghanistan Qurbani donation is a way to share the joy of Eid in a country where meat has become a luxury for many families.

A small animal Qurbani costs 150 €. Your Qurbani is performed in Afghanistan and the meat is delivered to poor families, orphans and widows.

The meaning of Qurbani in Afghanistan

Years of war, economic decline and harsh winters have deepened poverty in the country.

For families living in mountainous, hard-to-reach areas, Qurbani meat is often their only meat meal of the year.

Because Eid al-Adha 2027 falls in late spring, the meat distributed gives families strength after a long, hard winter.

From slaughter to distribution

• 1. Donation: In the form above, enter the type of Qurbani, the quantity and on whose behalf it should be performed.
• 2. Slaughter: The Qurbani is performed in accordance with Islamic rules, as authorised by your proxy.
• 3. Distribution: The meat is shared among households in need identified in advance.
• 4. Video: Your slaughter video arrives on your phone by SMS.

Example calculation: a Nadhr Qurbani from Linz

Someone living in Linz vowed to offer a Qurbani after recovering from an illness and wants to have this Nadhr Qurbani performed in Afghanistan.

Cost: 1 × 150 € = 150 €. In the form, “Nadhr” is selected as the type and the name on whose behalf the Qurbani is performed is entered.

Distribution in difficult terrain

Reaching Afghanistan's mountain villages takes time, especially in remote valleys.

That is why slaughter and distribution are planned at accessible centres, and the meat is handed over to families as quickly as possible.

Priority is given to households without an adult breadwinner, orphans and large families.

When should you donate from Austria?

The eve of Eid is 15 May 2027. As animals and logistics are arranged in advance, we recommend completing your donation a few days before Eid.

From Vorarlberg to Carinthia, you can donate from anywhere in Austria in a few minutes by card, EPS or PayPal.

After your donation you receive a thank-you message by e-mail; once the payment is confirmed, your receipt is sent too. Because of the heavy workload during the Eid days, the slaughter video may arrive in the days after the slaughter.
