Water Tanker Donation: Emergency Water for Palestine Where No Well Can Be Built
A water tanker donation brings clean water directly to people in emergencies where drilling a well is not possible.
Your donation on this page goes towards water tanker trips for Palestine. One trip costs 350 €.
When is a water tanker needed?
In situations such as war, siege or displacement, the water network and wells can become unusable.
The security and time needed to build a permanent well are often lacking.
Under these conditions, water tankers are the fastest way to get drinking and household water to camps and crowded neighbourhoods.
Especially in Palestine
Extensive damage to Palestine's water infrastructure has made access to clean water a serious problem.
The lack of safe drinking water increases the risk of waterborne diseases, especially among children. For the current situation, see the reports of UNICEF Palestine.
How does a trip work?
- Sourcing: The tanker is filled with clean water from a reliable source.
- Transport: The water is taken to the camp or neighbourhood where the need is greatest.
- Distribution: Families collect their water in jerrycans and containers; one tanker carries thousands of litres of water.
Example: regular water throughout Ramadan
A donor living in Innsbruck wants to send one tanker trip for every week of Ramadan.
For four weeks: 4 × 350 € = 1.400 €. By increasing the quantity in the form, they can complete it in a single payment.
Those who want to contribute with a smaller budget can team up with friends to share one trip.
Emergency water or a permanent well?
A water tanker is an emergency, short-term solution; a lasting solution requires a well.
If you would like to leave a lasting work in regions where conditions allow, you can choose a country and well type on the water well donation page. For well types, see the water well donation guide.
You can read about the value of giving water to someone who is thirsty as Sadaqah in our article What is Sadaqah?
Other emergency support for Palestine
You can also add Palestine emergency aid, a hygiene kit or a bread donation to your basket.
How do I donate a water tanker from Austria?
Choose the number of trips in the form above, add them to your basket and pay by card, EPS or PayPal.
You can combine your water tanker donation with Qurbani, food or hygiene donations in the same basket and complete them in a single payment.
Who is it suitable for?
For donors who want to make an immediate impact without the budget for a well, a water tanker is an ideal start. A single trip contributes to the daily water needs of many families in a camp or neighbourhood; regular trips make this support ongoing.
All water projects: water well projects. Payment is by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, EPS or PayPal.
