About Circumcision Donations: Share in a Family's Joy
A circumcision donation eases the burden on a family who cannot afford to have their son circumcised, and lets you share in their joy.
At Austria Yetim Eli, we provide circumcisions for the children of families in need across the regions we serve, at 50 € per child.
Why is a circumcision donation important?
In Muslim communities, circumcision is seen both as a religious Sunnah and as a great joy for the family.
In poor families, however, the cost of a circumcision in safe, healthy conditions often cannot be covered.
As a result, children either remain uncircumcised or are circumcised in unhygienic conditions, which creates health risks.
How are the circumcisions carried out?
- Circumcisions are carried out accompanied by medical staff.
- The procedure is performed under hygienic conditions.
- Priority is given to children from families without the means.
Example: a circumcision donation from Austria
- 1 child: 50 €
- Two siblings: 2 × 50 € = 100 €
- 5 children on the occasion of your own son's circumcision: 5 × 50 € = 250 €
If you are holding your own child's circumcision celebration in Vienna, Innsbruck or Linz, you can share that joy with a child far away through a circumcision donation.
Choose the number of children in the form above and pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, EPS or PayPal. You will receive a thank-you by e-mail and a donation receipt once the payment is confirmed.
When should I make a circumcision donation?
A circumcision donation can be made at any time of year. Still, some occasions are especially meaningful for donors:
- Before or after your own son's circumcision celebration
- On the birth of a child, for an Aqiqah or as an act of thanksgiving
- On blessed days such as Ramadan and Eid al-Adha
- In memory of a deceased loved one
Whatever the occasion, your donation lifts a burden from a family in the regions of need and enables a child to be circumcised in safe conditions.
Is a circumcision donation Sadaqah, and can Zakat be given for it?
A circumcision donation can be given as general Sadaqah. For the types of Sadaqah, read our article Sadaqah and Sadaqah Jariyah.
If you are thinking of using your Zakat for this purpose, first read our article Who can receive Zakat?; if in doubt, consult a religious official (imam).
